Allow me to briefly introduce myself:
I was born in 1956. Sculpture has fascinated me since my youth. As a self-taught artist, I have always been involved in it, even while studying medicine and alongside my medical practice in France and Germany, during my medical practice in Benin (West Africa), and later in leadership roles at international pharmaceutical companies. Since my retirement in 2019, I have been focusing on my artistic work.
My preferred medium is wood in all its forms and possibilities. It is a very special and highly individual material that was once part of a living organism. I continually explore it in its various forms, ranging from drift wood to paper to even charcoal and ash.
I am also interested in the influence of the medium on the artistic idea or message, for example, when a sculpture originally created in wood is cast in bronze or fine silver. There is still so much to discover!
Since 1984, I have exhibited in solo and group shows, both in Germany and in France, Austria, Spain, and Italy. At exhibitions in Vittel, Sarrebourg (1988), and Thionville (2006), I was awarded the bronze medal on each occasion.
