Fine Art Prints / Landscapes

Bark beetles destroy the bast layer, and with it the lifeline of a tree. This creates tunnels with characteristic patterns. Climate change is placing trees under increasing stress, and as a result, more and more are succumbing to bark beetle attacks. The traces left by the bark beetles thus appear as harbingers of more barren landscapes.

Infested trunks with their characteristic patterns serve as a matrix for prints made with acrylic or oil paints on handmade paper. When you change the perspective and rotate the prints 90°, new “landscapes” emerge, which is what gave the series its name. High-resolution photographic reproductions were created from the originals, which are available as a limited and signed edition of fine art pigment prints on high-quality paper and in various formats.
